Description

Aim: To make the links between global citizenship, sustainable development and enterprise activity.
To include enterprise activity in regular topic work and see it as a means for delivering a Curriculum for Excellence.
To introduce fair trade (Fairtrade) and see how schools can contribute towards Scotland's bid to become a Fairtrade Nation.
To encourage young people to think about the international world they are growing up in.
To show how Development Education Resources and methodology support a Curriculum for Excellence.

 

Content: This interactive workshop will offer practical ideas for the classroom.
Product based enterprise can be evaluated ethically.
Social enterprise will be introduced and other enterprise activity where the outcome or 'product' is real but not for sale for personal or group gain.
How can we deliver regular topic work in an enterprising way? How can we achieve Fairtrade School status? How does Fairtrade contribute to Eco Schools?
A chance to view and borrow resources.

 

Notes: This course can be delivered in schools during CAT or as part of a closure day. It can be one or two hours long.
