Description

Aim: Practical ideas for the classroom to illustrate that Fair Trade can help deliver the cross cutting themes in an interdisciplinary manner.
- It is a positive way to encourage active global citizenship.
- It can be embedded in the curriculum as well as be a whole school initiative.
- It helps to join up other work going on - Health Promoting Schools, Eco-Schools as well as Rights Respecting Schools.
- Fair Trade encourages enterprise as well.

Content: Background info on what Fair Trade is and how it works.
- Classroom activities to stimulate critical and creative thinking and group work.
- Links to Health and Wellbeing, RME, Technologies, as well as Numeracy and Literacy.
- It is a positive way to introduce young people to global citizenship and sustainable development in an enterprising way.
- Resources for loan will be available.

 

Notes: This course can be delivered in your school or for a cluster of schools during CAT or on a school closure day .
