Description |
Aim: To take an active learning approach to mental, emotional and social health using a body of well respected global education resources. The session will help make connections to citizenship education and show how Sustainable Development Education impacts on all 4 aspects of health and wellbeing within a Curriculum for Excellence. Sharing and learning through school partnerships can do much to enhance Health and Wellbeing. |

Content: The methodology of Development Education materials will be highlighted as a means to deliver content, making global connections to local issues, as well as developing the core skills, particularly communication, working cooperatively with others, problem solving and decision making - all skills so important for health and wellbeing. Activities will foster emotional literacy, especially empathy for others. Developing informed attitudes about rights and responsibilities will be a key part of the course. A critical approach to food and diet will support the physical aspects of health and wellbeing. |
