Description

Aim: To see how the links between many initiatives we are being asked to address – Determined to Succeed, health, environment, Eco Schools, citizenship, sustainable development, global dimension, international education, school links and partnerships, climate change and biodiversity - help to develop Responsible Citizens, Successful Learners, Confident Individuals and Effective Contributors, the 4 capacities of A Curriculum for Excellence.

To explore the classroom use of simulation games to promote problem solving skills and develop cooperative group learning.

 

Content: The methodology of Development Education materials will be highlighted as a means to deliver content, local and global, as well as the core skills, particularly communication and working with others. The session will offer ideas to raise awareness of and participation in the UN Decade for Education for Sustainable Development.
