Ardross Primary School Film Making Project

Last year the P4-7 pupils at Ardross Primary School enjoyed combining an exciting film making project with their class topic on Fair Trade.

Resources were gathered through letter writing, emails and various websites.

The class were split into trios and all given the same remit.

Each group had six weeks to research a different product and present their findings to the class.

Filming took place the next term in the form of a documentary – Fair Trade Rocks!

This included news reports, a cake baking competition, a fashion show with clothes provided by a local shop, a cartoon with super heroes McFair and McTrade and, to cap it off, a rap.

This production was written, filmed and edited entirely by the pupils.

We held a performance to showcase the documentary and included lots of other great work.

The evening was a huge success; the children and I agreed we had helped to raise awareness in the community andshowed how delicious Fair Trade food could be.

And the winner of the fair trade hamper was the envy of the night!
